An Invitation to Striped Bass Stakeholders:
The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission is holding a Striped Bass Board meeting on December 16th to consider emergency action for Striped Bass management. This is in response to the result of the 2024 Stock Assessment which indicates the stock remains overfished. Projections suggest a less than 50% chance of rebuilding the stock by 2029 as fishing mortality is expected to increase as the 2018 year class enters the slot length limit. CCA NH will be hosting an informational forum on December 12th from 630PM to 9PM at the Urban Forestry Center in Portsmouth, NH. This meeting will be the only opportunity to provide direct feedback to the three ASMFC Commissioners representing NH in regards to possible options of emergency action for Striped Bass management in 2025 to increase the probability of rebuilding to at least 50% by 2029.
